Kumyks look less caucasoid than other caucasian people. Noghays also.
I know lezghin and Dargin people tend to dislike Kumyks, all other caucasian groups tend to like them. And everybody likes Noghays.

Dislike. I think it has to do with how they interact with each other in dagestan. In caucasus all the muslim groups tend to like each other, with the exception of Adyghe having issues with Balkars, and Dargins/Lezghins having issue with Turkic people Kumyks included. The most hated groups there by other caucasians are probably Ossetians due a difference in religion.
There is a similar type of dislike between Erzya and Moksha for some reason, Erzya tend to look down on Mokshas eventhough they're both Finno Ugric and Orthodox Christian. I think it has to do with historical issues.
