any force that pushes on the teeth will move them, it will mess with dental aesthetics and your teeth alignment. this is why you have to be careful mewing, any pressure in a wrong area over years can mess the development up seriously.

if you want to push your jaw forward, just your jaw forward. the lower jaw is moveable and you can push it forward a bit to give the appearance of more "forward growth". if you do it for years it'll be natural and stick more often than not.
