ive been recently wondering if men are smarter than women. Are we?

I had a debate with a girl even tho idk much about these things. I immediately threw the fact that the people with the highest iq are mostly a man, or simply js all of them. And what I got from her is that if women had the same opportunities as men they would be as smart too. Then she said that we men think on simple logic or smth like that. She kept talking about something like women can guess what men are thinking about, women are more empathetic() while men are more practically intelligent. “Thats why most men work as repairman, police, construction etc” I said that there arent many female philosophers, they are mostly men. She got offended and said some things like uhh “when women were too smart they were getting called a witch and getting burned. Men stole their wive’s ideas..” many other things. Lowk I didn’t even know what to say so Im asking u guys if men are smarter
