This is one thing that I've noticed living in Mumbai, if you're indian you would know how badly we treat dark skinned girl on average, which is worse than dark-skinned men.

imo most of the hatred towards indian womens skin color is due to men being insecure about their own colour

Take me for example, I'm a pahadi who is whiter than 98% of indians, so growing up I never had to feel racism towards my skin, and I genuinely feel no hatred towards dark-skinned girls, infact my ex was darkskinned and I had no problem while being with her

Whereas, take my friends for example, they are browner and darker than me and are usually the ones hating on darker-skinned women

Idk, I’ve noticed in so many South Asian couples, it’s usually that the male is darker than the female. I dunno why that is. Nevermind, I know exactly why that is. Lighter skin is seen as more attractive, so dark-skinned men will go for lighter-skinned women. I see it in my own family as well. I have a lot of dark-skinned men, and I guess the ones with fair-skinned women are thinking they hit the lottery.
