candyman from 1992 - there will be a remake released later in the year so you can watch the original beforehand
final destination from 2000 - i think is a fun one to watch, teens escape death but are hunted down by death itself
freddy vs jason from 2003 - another fun one to watch, freddy from nightmare on elm street battles jason from friday
last shift from 2014 - a female cop is assigned to her first duty to stay at an old police station where she is by herself
scream from 1996 - this one is a classic, a masked killer is targeting teens in a small town

imho i think you should either watch final destination or scream, it's a who-dun-it so you will be guessing and theres sequels to the movie so you could watch scream 2 for the second date because its still connected, with final destination 2 you get another group of people and they dont tie into each other

yeah its really diverse, i love a lot of foreign horror movies although by definition even american horror movies are foreign for me but i meant like asian ones, theyre really good but theyre more for suspense rather than a good time imho. and cool! let me know how it went, and what you thought of the movie after you watch the first one tomorrow. you can either create a thread in off-topic or pm me.

i do but you gotta check with your gf if she is into reading subtitles because a lot of american folks arent into that lol, i think asian horror movies are a lot more effective in terms of creeping you out, although not all asian horror movies rely on atmosphere, theres also those that mix atmosphere with jump scares but i dont like them so much; still there are great examples i can think of if you want your girl to jump while enjoying a good story. often the story in american horror movies isnt really there or the atmosphere isnt really there but theres always jump scares to "scare" people and people think thats what makes a horror movie scary when it isnt. what makes a horror movie scary is when you feel creeped out even after watching it imho.
