Fall starts @ 1:19
In the beginning of the video the man is heard saying, "My fingers are losing sensation. I wish I had brought a smartphone holder. It's in my pocket," he said. "My fingers are killing me. Let's warm them up."
He then says, "Oh, it's slippery, it's so slippery, it's dangerous," he said, still laughing.
"Here are rocks. We can follow the rocks. It's pretty dangerous. I can climb down by sliding."
"Am I on the right path? I'm slipping!," those were his last words.
The camera then begins to spin and there are fleeting glimpses of clouds as he slips out of control down the mountainside.
For two days, rescuers looked for his body and they finally found his mortal remains on the flanks of Japan’s Mount Fuji.
According to SCMP, a viewer who was watching the live broadcast contacted the emergency services, which immediately sent out searchers. Several viewers commented on the feed, warning the situation appeared dangerous, but he pushed on.
Every year hundreds of thousands of people climb Mount Fuji, which is regarded as a holy mountain in Japan.
The official climbing season runs from the start of July to the end of August. Outside this period, lodges and toilets are shut, yet climbing is not prohibited.
