Since 1907, Japan's age of consent has been 13, the second lowest-in Asia.

The age of consent in the Philippines is 12 but, following wide-spread outcry, a proposal was passed this year to raise the age of consent in the country to 16.

My reaction depends on the ages of the students who made the petition.

I don't fucking get it.

Why would STUDENTS launch such a petiton? STUDENTS. Teens WANT to have sex! They don't even follow age of consent laws anyway.

These are the type of people who, just like everyone, wanted freedom when they were kids, but after they got older they start to get bossy and tell younger people they can't do things that they themselves wanted to do when they were at the same ages as the kids they like to boss around.

E.g. You wanted to date in middle school, but once you become a parent you don't allow your own kids to date in middle school.
