But the genetic distance between different populations can be very great, even two Punjabis from the same village can be 4x as genetically distant as a Belgian is to an Irishman, even though they are separated by the sea. Yeah but Belgian people and Irish people are definitely the same race, white. I don’t know the genetic distance between Sicilians and Swedes, but Sicilians have MENA ancestry, so they are genetically more diverse than the average European. In any case, South Asians are more of a geographical group rather than a single genetic group.
