I've been experimenting with jaw rotation with jaw rotation and im genuinely so confused about molar intrusion, since I hear lots of people say chewing with premolars influences ccw rotation I originally set up a device that kept my anterior teeth separated that I could clench on 24/7, basically just the front of a retainer covering my anterior teeth to the first premolar.
At this point when I was doing this, I heard molar chewing was the enemy and causes cw rotation which by logic makes sense because "front teeth=upward pressure=ccw tipping, back teeth=upward pressure on the back=cw tipping"
I started to get more into airway orthodontics when I was researching this, and I found that some people say the exact opposite. Orthos put posterior bite blocks for ccw rotation in select orthodontic procedures. This is where I get confused. How could posterior bite blocks cause ccw rotation but not molar clenching or chewing, and people say the exact opposite?
Some possible theories currently: I think maybe the anterior chewing rotates the jaw by training the superficial masseter from the jutting when chewing required which over time moves the jaw forward and the bite blocks work through intrusion of molars and eruption of incisors regardless of muscle growth
Tldr: why do posterior bite blocks cause ccw but not molars clenching or chewing? Why are premolar and anterior chewing known for ccw rotation if its almost the exact opposite?
