My surgeon hints at wanting to add jaw angles in. I'm not sure they got well with my face. my lower third is already pretty wide, and i feel like jaw angles would make it too wide compared to the zygos. i had chatgpt simulate this:

IMG 0291

this is exactly how i had envisioned it. to me it looks stupid to have the jaw as wide as the zygos. so to fix this, i feel like id have to add another couple mm of outward projection to the zygos. i think id have to commit to heavy midface implants to balance out the jaw implants. paranasals, malars, infras, and maybe submalars. chatgpt simulated that to look like this:

IMG 0292

it did balance out that "dumbass" look the previous render had. what are the odds of this turning out well though? i feel like it wouldnt turn out how i wanted

I feel like you shouldn’t add anymore width and rather focus on getting most height of the face/jaw possible. The wider you go, the more you look like a disproportionated potatoe basically

I think you shouldn’t get jaw angle implants. Let your hair grow out, and maybe get some fat grafting around the eyes and perhaps some eyelid work

Not sure if applicable to you, but during one of my consults since I have a very round ramus, I was told that the answer is not always to add material. For my case I was recommended jaw angle implants in *combination* with shaving/reshaping the jaw body. Perhaps that would be better for u too? idk

jaw fillers look always uncanny in motion and peak implants mog

Elab please? What’s wrong
ive heard some people say the fillers help make the edge look a lot better whereas the implants just kinda poof that region out. not sure what his personal issue has been though

havent heard this ever. so shave off the bulk, then add an implant to get a better shape?

If you havent considered or looked into jaw shaving please do so, implants without it become bloated botchs

I don't think you need more width but you could benefit from more jaw height

Did you only do l fort? Or BSSO too?
both
Yeah good change
So this time it’s only implants ?
i mainly want paranasals, fat grafting, and a facelift. surgeon just keeps hinting at thinking jaw angles are a good idea. i think he just sees me as this masculine fighter type and thinks theyll fit my character; idk

I also did bimax. My paranasal needs work too. Also considering cheek lift. What kind of a lift do you wanna get?
Yeah I think your jaws are already wide enough. You don’t wanna turn too masculine. Rn you have this balance. But like your jawline can be just a bit sharper. It’s kinda round now.

i was thinking deep plane just for the mid face. was gunna see how my surgeon packages his facelifts; if one includes the neck and mid face for an ok price maybe ill throw that in. my guys best skillset is his facial rejuvenation techniques so im confident in his deep plane lifts and fat grafting

i think thats why people recommended the shaving plus implants, to jeep it the same size but with better edges. tbf im still kinda fat because ive been recovering from procedures since january, so the jawline may end up more crisp once i finish my cut in another 30ish lbs

I’d only reccomend someone to get any type of jaw angle/Gonial implant if they are practically missing a jaw e.g this guy. It literally only looks good on Ryan gosling tier faces imo

It was the complete opposite for me, I looked bogged with jaw angles, whole family clowning me and i was seriously unhappy with how it turned out. The side profile looked aesthetic and sharp but something was off. Filler looks extremely, extremely natural as long as you choose a good injector. Even when I was using sculptra which is kinda shit it looked miles better than jaw angles. Im not good at explaining but the implant just did not harmonize well maybe I just had a shit surgeon idk. It was PEEK fyi

Edit I forgot to mention a big thing is how filler harmonizes with the masseter muscle unlike implants

Strongly agree, imo mandible/gonion filler looks far better and achieves far better aesthetic outcomes than jaw angle implants.

Frankly I'm dissapointed by most jaw angles I see, like you said it looks good from the side but its not 100% and you have to deal with dehisence etc.

I can see the argument for using jaw angles as a base for filler, or if you're substantially downgrown and are using it to augment your gonal angle but for the avg looksmaxxer who just wants a slightly better gonal angle or more prominent gonions etc filler>>implants.

Mind posting some before and after? Just blur parts of your face that can be identified or send in dm

Well this guy could benefit from both cases but in a situation where one is permanent and the other one needs revision every 6 months then the choice should be obvious if your planning to maintain it over the years no? And I always see filler as a "touch up" for things for slight recessions for example but could you send me pics of how the implants looked on you and the filler that you are rocking now? Very curious because I was pretty convinced that implants mog filler all the way just by looking more natural alone..

Hmm thats a new one for me, most fillers ive seen at the lower third look the best at a recessed chin area for projection and width but are many times overdone at the jaw area and give this unnatural effect as shown on these guys below for example;

1000145532
1000145533

Il admit that something like radiesse can give a nice boney shape at the gonions.. but I assume that both of you have a decent ramus/existing jaw and just want more definition/angularity instead of fixing a major failo?

In general most guys are bottom third recessed and have a short ramus with a short mandible (and chin recession) would you suggest filler for that case aswell or something like custom peak mandibular implants?

I've noticed implants just add mass and give almost no angularity or contrast to improve hollow cheeks, even if the patient is relatively lean. Fillers seem to do slightly better but mostly the same. I don't get why. I wonder if there is any way to noticeably increase angularity and definitions to improve the contours and get an actual high fashion male model tier jaw for someone with no gonial flare whatsoever

I think you said it in the first sentence. You cant just add mass, you need to trim mass elsewhere as well

No i don't think that's the reason. If it were that simple than anyone with a narrow jaw could get implants and be a male model. Instead you at best get a wide jaw but without the definition that even a narrower one with flared gonions could achieve.
1000126261
1000126262

Like these 2 for instance they have a narrower jaw compared to other models, but still have peak angularity contrast and definition
1000126263
1000126264

These 2 have a wider jaw and a similar level of angularity and definition

However none of the results you get from filler or jaw angles even come close to that look, even on the leanest of individuals, look at this

1000126281
1000126278
1000126279

I think it might have something to do with good forward growth as well. You need to have that as well

Edit: And doesn't some of the examples you showev got full wraparounds? Those always end up bulky. I believe at least the guy with the pencil neck does.

Very good point and changed my perspective a bit..

Il have to say that the after in every case looks a lot better even if its just mass and im sure the angularity that your talking about can be achieved if these same people would stand in the models position with better camera and light then post surgery pics.. it does not do the comparison JUST imo..

I dont think fillers are the way aswell as it starts with nice angulare lines and slowly softens what gives a puffy look instead of the model jaw your talking about.. next stage would be migration aswell if no touch up is done to so implants in that sense can still be valuable IF you stay lean and low bf%

im very curious what possibly would counter the "added mass look" and
honestly this would be a good base start of a thread :lul:

Well whats the alternative for those implants if most of these guys have a short ramus, short mandible and a narrow chin?

crazy how it looks worse on the ones with pencil necks btw

i did a quick morph to give myself jaw angles that just extend the ramus and neet the mandible at a better angle. i think im gunna see about getting them soon. i think the shape would be a lot more predictable doing them like this rather than using then to expand outward where the masseter is
IMG 0575
IMG 0576

IMG 0579
IMG 0580

i could actually turn from sort face cel to tall skull jock

It looks solid in the morph! But I think you'd seriously risk either masseter dehiscence or implant show with that much vertical projection. How many mm would that be?
i didnt really consider anything at all tbh. kinda been doing everything on a whim. I have a designer crafting me a full midface mask implant right now and i sent him similar photos asking for these types of jaw implants just so we can see the design and choose to go for it or not. I'll let you know the mm once we have it mapped out on the production software

Interesting seeing how short your ramus is pre-morph; you can still really see the underlying SFS pattern at the step-off.
