Jaw recession is not caused by mouth breathing, but mostly diet and partly genetics.

I mouth breathed till I was 16 but still have a decent jaw line with good length, I've always eaten hard foods like steak and tough meats from a young age, I'm pretty sure it's mostly your diet and partly genetics that affects your jaw development, if you ever have kids make sure you feed them a hard diet for a good jawline, my under eye support is shit tho probably from the mouth breathing.

No. It's all about how you balanced out one factor with the other (chewing) + hormones.

Your jaw would have 100% been better without mouth breathing.

I can take myself as an example too. Some mouth breathing during the night, and I still have a decent jaw, BUT not as good as my dad who had perfect development.

I had sleep apnea and asthma when I was younger and have a recessed chin. Have an overbite though

Due to the lack of proper oxygenation, the ability to deliver fully oxygenated blood to the cells is also much reduced. Thus mouth breathing has a negative effect on every cell in the body as it deprives them of oxygen. Overall wellness and health requires proper oxygen as every particle of our being requires oxygen.
