Actually, the majority of blacks live in the southern USA, so the races are in closer proximity to each other which increases the odds of race mixing.

Lots of crime. I knew several people who have been shot and killed. Certain parts are being gentrified, so more whites are moving in, but that’s more of the downtown area. Detroit used to be a white majority city prior to the 1970s. But after the riots in 1967, crime started going up alot and lots of whites moved to the suburbs and by the time the 1980s started, Detroit was a majority black city. Now, some of the children and grandchildren of the whites who moved away in the 60s and 70s are coming back to certain areas.
