Faroes sees a gender deficit of about 2,000 women owing to out-migration. As a result, the Faroese men resort to looking for women from the Philippines and Thailand online.

In 2000, Faroe had only 30 Asian women. By 2018, the estimate went up to 300.

Lena's mom came to the Faroes in 1993, introduced to her husband by her aunt (who's also married to a Faroesian) making her one of the first Asian women on the isles and Lena one of the first mixed-race children.

It's sad because the world doesn't really have isolated cultures anymore.
The Faroe is worth preserving just for anthropology's sake, you can't say the same about massive populations like the Philippines.
I get that these are just few excess men doing what they can but at this rate everything will become brown and ugly.
