That's the first bit of good sense I've seen from him.

There is no justification for modding on that scale, particularly for an organization as dysfunctional as r*ddit. You gain no benefit except the recognition of millions of lunatic nobodies, most of whom will hate you. There is no possible personal benefit to this except for exploiting the social connections such a position of power offers - the exact reason there's so much criticism. The only other reason I can think of is the laughable belief that reddit matters, and that modding is somehow helping .

This place doesn't matter, and is ultimately nothing but a distraction for us until the dinosaurs return to consume us all. Reddit is long past the point where it can be salvaged - human social groups don't scale to this size.
