Both were created by the creator of this universe(G-d/D-miurge). Their main goal is to test and tempt humans so G-d would see whether or not humans are obedient and are serving him. They can both shapeshift and feed on human emotions (loosh). Those are the same beings, only under different names and gnostics knew that these jinns/arch-ns are pure evil just like their creator.
