Jordan Barrett’s Maxilla

I saw a post (can’t find it now) that said maxilla recession can be measured by whether or not nasiolabial folds show when you smile. OP used this picture to show that Barrett’s maxilla development was ideal as he has no nasiolabial folds when smiling. But, isn’t that just because he’s not smiling all the way?

Everyone has nasolabial folds when they smile really wide.

The flatter your maxilla is, the more the nasolabial folds show, without you having to do any facial expression. Most gooks for example have visible nasolabial folds while in neutral position.

If you don’t have any nasiolabial folds when resting, nor when you smile like Barrett in the first picture, your maxima is probably not recessed?

Well, that’s a strong indicator that it’s probably not recessed but the best way to tell is by looking at the side profile
