In his diary, which you can read in translated English, he talks about his first onenitis he had when he was young. But he was a very short person, about 5'2-5'3 and frail build. He had a club foot which prevented him from going to the first world war and he got very depressed about that, locking himself in his room where he refused food for three days (He LDAR'd basically).
When he went to university, he wrote in his journal often about how there were so many women but he couldn't get with any of them, and how depressing this was, seeing others have such success.
However, things changed for Joseph, when in adult he became a huge slayer, so much so that Hitler threatened to remove him from his position for not setting a good example to the public. Women were drawn to him and he had many children, and many affairs. He was a very good speaker, and among the Germans he was known as the "Poison Dwarf".
