I'm fightmaxxing so obviously one of the first things I had to learn was jumprope. After a while learning the rhythm (it got dark outside) I think I did a decent job. I would like to make it look more effortless by keeping both feet low and keeping my elbows more tucked :what:

I iced my shins after because I also did roadwork this morning (3×15m runs with 1m rests) and I could feel them a bit. :feelsohgod:

Any other people do boxing/combat sport training? :what:

Sure. Currently recovering from injury but I could jump rope for 30min no problem. Also used to run 100km per week. My shin is quite solid.

Nice, mirin' conditioning :what:

Now I've somewhat got the boxing jumprope form now I'm going to work towards doing 3 minute intervals :Comfy:

Enjoy bro. If you don’t enjoy it you won’t be doing it for long.

I'm glad to hear it, my progress on the days I've did it was like:

Day 1 - Awful, and swung the rope backwards for some reason when I first learned like an idiot

Day 2 - Learned to do it somewhat with both feet at once, although very inelegant

Day 3 - Did 50 consecutive jumps with decent form

Day 4 (today) - Learned the beginnings of the boxer style

Honestly I got really frustrated learning it but I pushed through :Comfy:

I think I find it addictive. I've fallen in love with the idea of fighting. I have found learning to jumprope frustrating but so is any technical skill I believe and being able to do it now feels worth it :Comfy:

I wouldn't count just go by time, try to go for 5 - 10 min, and your video confused me? why are you lifting your legs that much to dodge the rope? if you'd like to do jump rope using only one leg simply keep both legs in the same posture and only use one calf to jump over the rope, hopefully this makes sense I'm faded

Yes you're correct, I mentioned it in my post my legs are going too high. When I started today it was almost comical lol no rhythm legs waist high. People in the park must've thought I was a retard :lul:

And yeah I only went by count because I'm still learning I want to move on to 3 minute bouts :Comfy:
