TBH I find people that run/walk races/whatever to raise money for some cause nauseating. If your main goal was really to raise money for some cause, you would get a job doing something productive and donate the earnings to the charity.
He ran the race in 3:59, that tells me two things, 1, He is a decent runner that trained for the race, 2, He is not a good enough runner to have qualified for the Boston Marathon through qualifier races, he had to rely on one of the special exemptions Boston Marathon organizers issue for applicants that submit hard luck stories, in other words he exploited the deaths of his children to get a special exemption entry into the Boston Marathon.
