I am sure you understand violence pall. Jim Cirrilo advocated going for headshots in sub 10 feet engagments, and this very much was less than 10 feet. That man was in 20 gunfights in his life, a legendary NYPD cop in case you don't know who he is. Most cops are lazy overweight fucks who don't practice enough.
Who gives a fuck about what Jim Cirillo advocated? At that close of a range when someone lunges at you with a knife you don't have time to do anything but aim at center mass and shoot.
You are right about doing what it takes to stop a threat. At that range a center mass shot will not stop a determined attacker unless it hits the spine. Not even a heart shot will do it. Its the reason Jim started aiming for head, and he was good enough to pull it off. Saying who gives a fuck what one of the most legendary gunfighters in recent American history thinks about closre range shootouts is wild tho.
The reason I say that is because he's one of the best, and I know my own abilities probably are no match. I'm very good with a pistol but I'd still not risk it. His advice is good for a hostage situation but in this one it seems a bit too cavalier for even the average well trained able shooter.
Mag dump the center and will probably hit the spine too. I would also not risk a head shot. If I were a cop tho I would practice my shooting as much as possible and not get complacent and lazy.
I practice my draw but don't go to the range very much. My father made me shoot competition for a year when I was a teen. Didn't shoot since then but was #1 one in my cpl class a couple years ago. Just returned to USA and hadn't shot in about 20 years. Class was full of mostly hood blacks though so go figure.
Get back to the range then nigga. Its hilarious to imagine hood thugs learning to shoot like real men and not hold their guns sideways. They are evolving.
