This. I can accept the critique that this data is self reported, and therefor less reliable than having women rank men by height and attractiveness in person. But the people claiming that most women would be most attracted to 10 feet high giants without evidence are fucking delusional.

I trust that an online anonymous survey yields more honest opinions about attractiveness than telling a guy in person whether his height is attractive or not.

That may play a factor, but I still take anonymous online surveys about attractiveness as more honest than in person surveys. Lots of women will tell a guy he’s good looking in person (if he asks) just to not hurt his feelings. I would bet Ranking a picture of him online would yield much more honest results.

Bringing in other factors like face and status just complicates the issue. Obviously a 5’11 guy with a 9/10 face is better than a 6’1 with a 6/10. We’re talking about height.

In an ideally designed study, we would assign 100 women to a 5'2 guy, 100 to a 5'3 guy, 100 to a 5'4 guy, etc. etc. all with the same face, and they would tell the researcher afterwards how hot he was on a 1 to 10 scale. But this impersonal survey result is probably the best we can do.
