just bought morrowind

i wonder if anyone else has played this game

i got openmw to work and i got a buncha mods/patches to help, you cant play this game vanilla at all, its horrible.

my first thoughts were wtf was i supposed to do, theres 0 handholding, they just throw you into the world and you have to ask npcs for directions and about quests, i hate it and love it at the same time.

and then theres 0 dialogue except for when you bump into them so you have to read mountains of text.

i’ve only played an hour but i dedicate myself to finishing this game with 0 guides

yeah ngl, i already finished both oblivion and skyrim recently and morrowind is only like 6 bucks on steam so i figured why not buy it and try it

after this im done, maybe ill buy eso too

yeah i cant lie i had to download a quest marker mod(dont crucify me)

mod essentially points u where to find the npc ur supposed to talk to, but the amount of topics i have to sift through to find the topic of the quest im doing is a lot compared to skyrim's which the topic is usually just at the top and its max 3-5 topics.

plus i have to read everything through, one time i tried stealing from a vendor and realized how janky the combat really is

i downloaded tamriel rebuilt too cause why not

Nah man the immersion is great, you get lost but it feels great to just read and find it yourself imo

i do fuck with the ost, the main theme goes so hard its definitely the best out of all elder scrolls games imo

i used to think so too but then i started buying games on my own and trying them out, if dont like them i can refund if ive played less than 2 hours

i might buy kcd2 soon, ive heard from a friend that its a really good game

It just makes progression all the more satisfying. You go from barely being able to land hits from a dagger and being called n'wah at every step of the way to becoming stupidly OP and slaying demigods
