I don't believe you can learn to mask

Some mask naturally and mirror others without thinking. My mother is autistic, socially she is completely normal, but she is neurotic af and has sensory issues

I have 0 sensory issues, but socially clearly something is off.

People wrongly assume autists are all the same, but each are very different

A lot of the people who think they have autism or Asperger’s genuinely do just have poor social skills. I’ve had periods of my life where I was very socially isolated for several months, and when I ‘reintegrated’ myself, I felt like a total sperg. Whereas during my first couple of years of university, where I was living in campus accommodation and surrounded by people constantly, I became very socially proficient.
