However, my grandpa was not tall at all (like 5’6). Which was average in the 40s, I think.
Why couldn’t he carry the dutch height genes? Why did God abandon our family?

Not surprising since the netherlands were a pretty short country 100 years ago: in fact it was one of the shortest in Europe. They are the euro country where height increased the most in one century. I think it's just natural selection tbh
