Just got braces at 17, anything I should look out for?

I just got 3d printed braces recently and I’ve only heard good things about them but I doubt my orthodontist would tell me otherwise because my family had to drop fucking 7k on them. It’s supposed to fix my teeth and recessed jaw but they haven’t given me elastics yet. I had Invisalign when I was 12 because I was pathetically recessed but I wasn’t consistent with the trays soo round two. Is there anything I should be looking out for? I want to make sure my process is completely perfect

honestly you're in good hands with 3d printed ones, they're one of the better options since they're fully custom brackets designed around your exact tooth shape, which also means fewer adjustment appointments than normal standatr braces.
the recessed jaw amd elastics thing is normal, elastics usually get introduced once your teeth are aligned enough that the rubber bands can actually do their job and correc your bite so don't sweat that part, it's coming.

since you mwntioned above that u were not really consistent before, its important that u don't skip appointments since your ortho needs to check progress and swap wires. Also watch what you eat hard or too sricky foods can pop brackets off and that sets you back. But onviously ask questions at every visit especislly about when when elastics are coming and what the jaw correction timeline will look like lol you paid 7k, so you're entitled to ask all you want. but its good you're this proactive already. just be consistent and don't repeat the invisalign mistake.

Also some of thsu advice is pretty obvious but i just wsnted to point out some stuff i wish i did when i had braces like taking the appointments more serious lol
