My grandmother had a yearbook of when things were segregated still and she said in North Carolina then if the father was white they attended the white schools while if the opposite they had to attend the black schools. Some of them were pretty white looking also. I have seen some pretty white looking people with black fathers however. With females they will lighten their skin many times with makeup to look whiter however.
