Been in NYC a month plus had a working week in Chicago, holy shit, the difference in both cities.
The sheer quality and number of matches aside, let's talk a bit about how forward and positive girls on US dating apps are. If she thinks you're cute, she will tell you. She will actually ask you questions and invite you out unprompted. You have no idea how rare this is anywhere in Western and Northern Europe, where even girls you're in LTRs with will treat complimenting you like going for a root canal. What's more, when American girls flirt it seems to be against a good-natured background of tenderness and working together, rather than brutally harsh evaluation and roasting as in Britain especially (and other parts of Europe, there's no fun or joy at all involved in the whole experience).
I'm not Chad, but even if I were, the difference is astounding. And for all the height obsession American girls get accused of having, I've managed to get way better matches here than in Europe, even when putting my true and extremely average height of 5'10" rather than the standard +2" to crack the 6' barrier.
Was offered by my work to relocate to the US years ago but back then I declined, now I've made the switch it's so depressing that I missed years of good experience and needlessly put up with tons of early-stage-dating bullshit from girls I'd now ignore on the apps.
I strongly recommend anyone who says the US is 'brutal' for dating as a guy is to set their Hinge location to London (or Berlin or somewhere in Scandinavia, even) and enjoy getting dragged through the mud. I also realise the US is not uniform and places like the Bay Area are considerably tougher.
