I've been in crypto since the really early days. I'm oldcel compared to you guys and just diamond handing delivered me insane returns. I also caught a few nice ICO's as well back in the day when they were money printers.

Made a bit with trading as well.

10M+ would be nice

This is the only leveraged position I've got open but I also have big stacks of pepe, trump, sui and bitcoin (spot). All those other stacks combined together are bigger than this leveraged position by far.

Basically if the whole market goes giga bullish I'm fucking laughing and I won't know what to do with all the money

I'm kinda immune to it because I've been through so many pumps and dips over the years. I've suffered major losses over the years (crazy stories). When it happens enough times the pain hurts less.

Also, it's all relative. I'm comfortable with that position. But if it was 50M in a 4x leverage trade I would be sweating buckets at any market movements.

Sol up 25% since I posted this topic. Boom. Doubled my money.

Probably gonna let it run as fomo is brewing nicely but I'll consider closing and locking in the profit if sentiment changes.

When do you reckon it will reach its prime and how much do you think itll be worth?

bull run started in 2023, it’s really long in the tooth now, I wouldn’t be surprised if the cycle top is in tbh

@kingofkings what is the tax situation on this? Do you just grit your teeth and pay it?

Finally reduced this position by 50%. Current value is roughly double my money, even with fees giga eating into my profits. If Sol pumps more I'll close the rest of it

I was way off on how I thought the price action was going to play out. Should have closed the whole position 1 month ago... but a win is a win.

Off topic, but do you think an altseason is coming or does it seem unlikely? I know its impossible to know but how was it in 2021? I keep hearing that an altseason wont happen if people believe its coming and right now everyone thinks its right around the corner

First, this cycle feels noticeably different from the ones I’ve lived through before:

1. The atmosphere is completely different compared to this same point in other past cycles. In the past, when Bitcoin smashed through to new all time highs it triggered extreme ridiculous relentless hype and fomo everywhere and it would always bring a flood of noobs and media coverage. This time around, I'm not seeing any of the same madness happening.

2. This is the first cycle that hasn't been fuelled by retail buying. Instead a lot of the price action has been driven by institutional buys from ETFs and Saylor. If you didn't know, Saylor has bought like $40 billion of bitcoin in total (probably more that's off the top of my head), pretty much consistently month after month after month. If he hadn't been doing that I honestly doubt Bitcoin would even be above $100k right now.

3. A lot of degen liquidity has shifted away from tail-end alts and is now chasing meme coins. The risk appetite is still there but it's more diluted.

4. A much higher percentage of market participants are now savvy. Everyone who fomo'd into alts the last 2 cycles and then suffered 95% losses are going to be much more cautious after getting burned like that. Basically, less dumb money. On top, everyone now knows how altseason works and nobody wants to be left holding the bag.

If past patterns repeat, we should be due for some explosive moves soon.... but honestly, I’m not convinced we’ll get the kind of altseason we saw in previous cycles. I think it’ll be a much more muted version. Some of the ghost alts ( the ones that are basically dead and dormant) probably won’t make much of a come back imo.

All in all - I'm pretty confused. Every bull market I fire up some leveraged longs and let them ride out to huge profit. This time around I'm being more cautious. I know you wanted a more definitive answer but this what I can share from my perspective.

Yeah, it’s confusing. I think it’s true that it’s unlikely that what everyone thinks will happen will actually happen. From December 2024 until now, my portfolio dropped from 800 usd to 200 usd and since than people have been saying that altseason is starting next week and they still keep saying the same thing

Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to respond
