Yes, and I've been all around america and talked to everyone from each part. The only consistent things are house parties tbh. But that could be literally anywhere. Many schools dont have the money for football programs or put it elsewhere. Cheerleading programs cost too much money too. Sadly most of america is poor af.

Now college is different. College movies are more on point to what the experience is like, this is because they have LOADS OF FUCKING MONEY. Currently most colleges are online bc of Corona tho so it sucks. But out of state tuition is very high so unless your parents are rich then its not worth to get that debt. It’s very funny how America brainwashed the world tbh. I go to an “American School” that’s not in America btw it’s in my home country jfl, very expensive ngl, the purpose of this school is to emulate how authentic American schools are like: we have proms, same locker designs and hallways even the same education. U solved my maths the other day that was for my fuckin SAT exam practice. I always get a laugh out of the fact that my parents pay all this money for something every broke US citzen gets for free, still love my American school tho.

Depends. I came from a wealthy area, not a jock but I have a future and took a cute girl to prom senior year so I can't complain. A good chunk of the US grow up in shitty parts.
