Just started Tretinoin. What do I need to know?

Derm said apply every other night, wash with water in the mornings, and use cera ve salicylic acid wash at night.

Give me your opinions and tips to not fuck my skin up.

(FYI, I have no actual pimples, just grainy skin with pigmentation and black heads)

Will purge actually happen? I have no pimples currently, and last time I took a retinoid I didn’t experience it at all.
