Been doing ts since 2024 I am doing it all the time even if no one is looking,if I do it for a long time it my jaw stays forward for a few hours without me having to jutt
it will cause TMD and youll eventually stop someday, not worth it.

The tmj joint remodels over time some orthodontic appliances remodel it over time even whilst growth is finished in the mandible
Or very close to being finished

I go from just a mid looking jaw to a jaw that looks like Arvids from the front the trade off is worth it imo the tmj joint remodels over time I won’t jutt hard and it won’t be hard enough to change my insicor plane angle either

Opinions?

If you have your jaw in the natural position, are your molars touching or not?

Because if your molars are touching in your resting position, you are always in your intercuspation position, which isnt optimal.

The normal position should be a 2-4mm gap of air between your molars, called the freeway space, to relax the TMJ and the masseter and to prevent tooth enamel attrition.

I also have my jaw resting with 4mm freeway space since a year and i also jutt 2mm forward and i had no problems so far, I have a 2mm overbite so now my jaw looks like a normal occlusion from the side.

So basically you can rest your lower jaw always 2-4mm vertically downwards and like 2mm forward and you should be fine but if you get TMD I would reduce that.

btw. your condyles can remodel but its only minimal and gets less and less the older you get like we speak of maybe a milimeter after 20 and after 25 it usually stops. Your processus angularis where your masster attaches could also remodel a bit but we are also speaking like a milimeter...

yes molars and premolars touch in resting
does jutting become easier over time?

Yeah its automatic now, i dont even have to think about it.
You can safely jut 2-4mm downwards and 2mm forwards, if you get TMJ pain stop but I am fine since a year
Its not that much but still a difference and apart from looks it is much more relaxing for my jaw.
