When someone is highly suggestible, they will immediately be distraught after seeing a post that shows something negative. They might start panicing/their whole day is ruined after seeing something.

These are the same people when they read something positive, they cheer up and get happy. This probably happened to you.

You want a strong sense of reality so nothing shakes you too much so to speak.

And this has nothing to do with karma lol. It doesn't even work like that. It's not always instant, and if you truly believe in karma, you probably believe in reincarnation. Most of your actions don't always have an immediate consequence, it might happen after a lifetime. Karma is based upon cause and effect. (I don't believe in karma or reincarnation)
