I just got it done, so ill update later. For now tho, i have zero frizz and my hair is almost pin straight but that should turn to wavy after washing with shampoo.yoo bro im thinking of doing it how did it turn out? also what was ur hair type before and how much did u pay
The keratin in care products works slightly different, as they're hydrolized into smaller peptides that temporarily bind to weak spots on the cuticle of the hair. In keratin treatment larger proteins are applied, you then let it sit for about an hour and seal it with high heat allowing it to adhere better. So its pretty much just more potent and semi-permanent (3-4 ish months)What is keratin treatment for exactly? Isn’t keratin in most hair care products, or at least masks, already or am I missing something?
And what precisely is the aim of this? I thought you actually meant rebuilding keratin, but I understand now. I suppose this would break the disulfide bonds you see in cysteine residues. Wouldn’t this alter the actual shape of the hair itself due to the formaldehydes or glycols? Isn’t this a worse outcome than your simple hair masking for nicer texture? The keratin in care products works slightly different, as they're hydrolized into smaller peptides that temporarily bind to weak spots on the cuticle of the hair. I specifically got a treatment without formaldehyde so it did not break or rearrange the disulfide bonds in the cortex, the goal for me was to coat the cuticle and smooth the surface to reduce frizz and loosen the curls (3a) to wavy. Also I do want to note that my hair appears significantly blonder now, im guessing due to the shine? or maybe because of the heat exposure. And what precisely is the aim of this? Formaldehyde for sure would form a methylene bridge so your hair would be stiffer and alter in shape, almost like a glue if used. Not sure the need for these if your aim is just to satiate the hair and not alter its shape and structure.
Shine likely.I specifically got a treatment without formaldehyde so it did not break or rearrange the disulfide bonds in the cortex, the goal for me was to coat the cuticle and smooth the surface to reduce frizz and loosen the curls (3a) to wavy.
