The best way is to be mindful of your thoughts—when you do that, random thoughts vanish. Stay aware of your thoughts to clear your mind and shift your focus to things around you, like the sounds or sights, or the work you're doing(your mind need constant experience either it be through the sensory input or thoughts in your head). If random thoughts come back and distract you, just be mindful again. Keep at it, and things will get better.
