Prostaglandin is a chemical that is used in some eyelash and eyebrow growth serums to stimulate hair growth. However, it may also have some side effects, such as irritation, dryness, discoloration, and fat loss in the eye area. ¹⁴

This is called orbital fat pad atrophy, and it may be irreversible in some cases. ¹⁴
Therefore, using eyelash and eyebrow serums that contain prostaglandin may reduce orbital fat pad, but this is not a desirable outcome for most people. If you want to use a lash or brow serum, you may want to look for products that do not contain prostaglandin, such as peptides-based serums, which have less chance of side effects. ²⁶
