The Thai navy takes your engines, and tows you out to sea. You also may have forgotten with the war in the middle East and Ukraine, there is also a civil war still ongoing in neighboring Myanmar. Those people are also Asian and are also Buddhist, same as the Thais. Those refugees aren't allowed in the country. Thailand takes in no refugees or immigrants period and the people of Thailand are happy with that.

They're tourists. Yeah there's a shit ton of Russians and Ukrainians (mostly Russians) in Thailand because of the war and to escape conscription. But these guys buy their own plane tickets, hotel rooms/condos/rental houses, and bring money into the country. So they're really not "refugees".
