Krebst device fixing mandible

I'm a 17 year old male and i'm soon going to ask my dentist doing the work on my braces which is fixing my crossbite for a herbst device to be put in since my mandible is recessed causing my side profile to look horrible. I've heard and seen that these will bring your mandible forwards and is one of the only solutions especially at my age. I need people thoughts and opinions on this.
