Intro:Having long and thick eyelashes is extremly importent for facial aesthetics as it both shields and frames the eyes however when looking to achieve this many people are stuck between the cheap but unproven and ineffective castor oil or the more expensive but effective latisse that also has unaesthetic side effects like orbital fat loss and skin pigmentation.

The alternative: Kukui oil or Aleurites moluccanus seed oil is a relativly cheap and commenly used oil in hair and skincare products. Recently the oil has also been proven to work and has a clear mechanism of action

The mechanism:The oil works through activating the NRF2-ARE pathway eventialy leading to increased endoginus pgf2a through the akr1c enzymes. The results are very promesing showing a 8 procent increase in eyelash length in only 4 weeks and increased percieved thickness. Becouse it works through a sustained increase in endoginus pgf2a it unlike prostaglandin analogs like bimatoprost did not have any meaningfull side effects like skin pigmentation.

Personal anacdote:I have used a 10 procent kukui 90 procent mct oil solution and these are my results so far 3 weeks in minor but noticible

I would agree that bimatoprost is likely stronger but kukui oil doesent have the same side effects and you can buy way more for way less money

I get what your saying but most people arent buying off label bimatoprost and kukui oil has no restrictions and is realy cheap so for most regular people who arent buying bimatoprost for whatever reason this can be a great alternative

No it’s ass lol

How would you even know if its ass sure the study was small but a 8 procent increase in only 4 weeks is solid and its a double blind left right study compared to the grand total of 0 studies for stuff like castor oil id say its decent and worth trying for those curius
