I use most of them with spf50, moisturiser from la roche posay and tret from skinorac but along with that I would suggest micellar water too, its a gem

Exfoliation on Tret doesn’t fuck with your skin barrier? It made my skin red when I combined I needed a physical exfoliant. Also forgot caffeine serum and a multi collagen under eye serum with volufiline.

"oily skin" on a retinoid.
You need a moisturiser regardless because the moisture in your skin is not trapped as sufficiently as prior to retinoid usage and sebaceous gland activity downregulation.

So no, a moisturiser is not optional if you are using a retinoid, especially a pretty harsh one like tretinoin.
