the incel subreddit getting banned in 2018 was like a big event at the time & thats when i found out what an incel even was. i lurked the forum because i was an incel myself. i never signed up though because to me that would mean admitting defeat. Looksmaxxing was discussed on there somewhat as a potential way to ascend, mostly criticism of it however because they didnt want to promote false hope for truecels.

being that there was controversy surrounding whether or not discussing looksmaxxing/ascension methods should be allowed as a topic on the incels forum, sergeantincel released a separate forum that is the Looksmax.org we have today. It was announced underneath the header of the incel forum and when I saw it I immediately signed up.
