Late bloomers, What was your experience with puberty like?

I’m 16 now and i hit puberty about a year ago around this time. I’m not tall, i’m about 5’8 and my face doesn’t look feminine but just not really very masculine. If you were a late bloomer and hit around the same age as me, how long did it take you to grow/ see changes in height as an example.

i also developed curly hair but that was when i was like 11 so not bcs of puberty

are you retarded? hitting puberty at 14 or 15 is considered to be at the extreme late end of normal. most people hit it at 11-13 range.

they overestimate the age because no one at 11 can grasp actual testicular growth. most people think "oh, my voice cracked, i hit puberty" when in reality they hit puberty ~2 years before that.

i doubt anyone on this forum knows exactly when they hit puberty since kids can't tell if their testis grew.

pubertal onset = testicular enlargement ≥ 4mL, but here the size is not much bigger than pre pubertal size so you can't tell when it happened
in your case at 13-14, that was your rapid testicular growth phase which afaik is generally 1year after onset (people think this is the phase when they hit puberty, but that's wrong)

so for you hormonal activation happened at 12 and rapid testicular growth phase at 13.

I could tell that my dick grew a bit from being so insecure about it when i was younger. So when you obsess about it and then look at it now you go holy shit ive grown

puberty starts later -> estrogen rises later -> epiphyseal plates stay open longer -> taller.
opposite for early puberty.
