Lateral flexion and rotation in neck training

Will I hit any extra muscle by doing this? because if the neck is anything like the forearms then you are not maximizing gains if you avoid those moves

you need to add weights, put a heavy lead ball In your mouth and do these moves
 
Some workout programs actually have these movements in the routine.

It's just a little different as you usually lay down, but it should do something.

When I was doing boxing training, my friend (coach) made me do all of those laying face up with head hanging off the ring and then face down. My neck's thick as it is >17 but once I get back into lifting it's definitely something I'll be doing to maximize neck gains.

Neckcurls already hit the sides of your neck. If you already do shrugs, you also hit the back of your neck, so the only must do exercise is neckcurls.
 
If you already do shrugs
I have long neck and narrow shoulders, I definelly don't do shrugs, I want to minimize as much trap development as I can
