I stopped halfway through because I realized that it's complete cope if I don't looksmax first I could spend 1000 hours on it and it wouldn't make anywhere near the difference socially that +.5 psl would

You should be playing the instrument because you want to play the instrument. You enjoy it.
Not playing guitar because it doesn’t bring you social benefits like looksmaxing would is plain simply idiotic.
