Because there are no osteotomies performed on that area for not syndromic patients with lf1 you just advance the nasal base , as you can see the lower maxilla is more projected but under eye area is left behind which make him look worse

Looks like a lot of paranasal swelling which balloons the lower area. I still have it BTW, it supposedly takes months to resolve.

Something a lot of folks don't understand about bimax is it makes something that is negative into a 0, not positive.

Normal jaws are just +0 points. You didn't receive a halo, you just don't have a failo now.

I want people to have a realistic expectation of what bimax is capable of.

Whitepill is key, you won't be able to reach natural level of perceved genetics anyway , surgery is good only for guys with good base so you can replicate what's naturally given to you but didn't develop cause of bad habits/nutrition as a child

I'm going to assume those implants are what's going to do the heavy lifting, cause I've yet to see a bimax only result where the jaws exceeded into extraordinary.

Every case I've seen, including mine, the jaws simply look normal.

I've scrolled through r/jawsurgery and yet to see a result that rivaled this type of natural jaw.

I guess the implants are what adds the wow factor and angularity.

Not reading any of the previous comments in this thread but here are my thoughts:

This is not Le Fort I only but Le Fort I + BSSO and genioplasty, so a full trimax. Le Fort I itself is hardly ever responsible for any aesthetical benefits, it's usually the mandible and chin that provide the most effect. Especially because maxilla is rarely moved more than 5-6 mm unless you're extremely deformed, whereas for mandible (BBSO) you can find plenty of Class II ascensions with people getting like 15 mm advancement.

As for the priority of importance for aesthetics in most cases I think: chin > mandible > maxilla

I'm sure that the after pics are only few weeks (or even days) after surgery, the main tell is the swelling in the paranasal area, see the red area.

This paranasal area swelling takes the longest to go away & is the most prominent, I know cause I'm currently dealing with this as well.
Also the jawline and neck area for sure looks like something you'd have in the first few days/weeks post bimax, it goes away with time.
He had Class III occlusion (underbite) before the surgery, it's hard to tell from these swollen post-op pics but it looks like they moved the maxilla a tiny bit forward and the mandible a tiny bit backwards. If I was to make a guess these were super small movements and they pretty much only wanted to fix the malocclusion. That being said I don't think there was much to improve aesthetically wise, this is nowhere near a pre-op base made for ascension. He looked like a regular person before the surgery, the side profile gives away the underbite but it's a tiny one still.

The counterclockwise rotation probably improved his occlusal plane and airways but I personally don't think it served any aesthetical purpose, he had very good gonial angle before surgery - notice that his gonions were below the lips line already before the surgery, any additional counterclockwise rotation on it will nuke the tapered jawline shape and make the face more blocky / square shaped. But it's hard to tell from these pics how much it changed as his afters have a lot of swelling for sure.

I think they fixed his bite but ogre-fied his jawline.
