i mean, what's the safe range in inches for leg lengthening to avoid long term problems?

3-5 inches is max most safe
e.g 3 inches in femur and 2 inches in tibia

like 10 max. But also make sure to measure the rest of your body like your arms. If you have been cursed with a shorter wingspan you are gonna look weird asf if you lengthen your legs to much

What's the 'safe' limit for leg lengthening to minimize risks?

For ferums it's usually said that the upper limit if around 6cm, and for tibias it's 4cm. This doesn't mean that you can't do more, it means that beyond that point is usually when risks are more often to arise.

If you want to preserve overall proportions, I'd do 10cm, 5cm each section. a 10cm increase is the lowest tolerable limit that presents the least amounts of risk, but it's worth getting LL for.

Anything above that presents risks, you could realistically do up to 20cm at your own risk, for example. But anything beyond the 20cm mark is just ridiculous.
