Christians adopted it, in hopes that people will more easily convert to christianity and that it'd be easier to adapt to. A sort of give and take. No. Reasons I have long hair are because I always wanted to have long hair, but never did. I found it pretty/beautiful and I like pretty/beautiful things and beatles. I really like beatles and they had longish hairs. Also I guess am a bit romanticised about 60s and hippies, but am not a hippie. But like some ideas of theirs...
