Obviously Looks, most people's personalities aren't that different for personality to have a huge say anyways. Even if the "Chad" has a worse personality than the "Normie", she'll still pick the "Chad" because he'll give her more genetically gifted children and the sex will be more enjoyable.

and to answer the "back in the day" argument , back in the day women's perspective of beauty and it's importance wasn't the same point of view as today's women . women are constantly seeing top 1% men on their phones scrolling through social media everyday , the type of men that women back in the day would see like once a month , that makes it that to women nowadays , that level of beauty is somewhat normal , so when they're in front of a more average looking guy , in comparison he looks bland and not impressive , and to add to that women nowadays even have interactions with these top 1% men through social media , even women that are only slightly above average because the range of women that men have sex with is way larger , so those factors create a disparity that wasn't present "back in the day"
