Many individuals lack a clear understanding of marriage and its origins. People say dumb shit like 'marriage takes away your freedom and you are stuck with the same person for the rest of your life so you shouldnt get married' here by 'takes away your freedom' they mean it restricts(or at least tries to restrict) polygamous nature of male and hypergamous nature of female.....'marriage takes away freedom' no shit sherlock it was created for that very purpose.
In pre-civilization times, people engaged in casual relationships without any commitments, resulting in children growing up without paternal figures. As humanity progressed, the concept of "marriage" was created. It suggests that if two individuals wish to engage in sexual relations, they should commit to a lifelong partnership. Society should penalize those who do not honor this commitment. The primary motivation behind this development was to establish functional families and a society in which children have caring parents to support and nurture them.

p.s Marriage can be seen as a potential solution to inceldom. If engaging in sexual activity outside of marriage were to be prohibited, it would limit the options available. For instance, if there are ten highly desirable individuals (chads) in a city, only ten women would have the opportunity to be with them. As a result, the remaining individuals would be compelled to marry less desirable partners if they were not able to secure a relationship with a desirable individual in time.

I agree with both of you, also even in pre-historic times, marriage was already a concept. I personally don’t believe people are “naturally polygamous,” by the way. In historic times, this happened in times of war which broke their respective societies and so they lost concepts like these since there weren’t enough men for all the available women. People mistakenly conclude that it’s in our nature to be polygamous when it isn’t. If it really was, then explain why pair-bonding ability exists and why after each partner, it becomes limited compared to the predecessors? Not just women but men, too. In fact, polygamy is a result of diminished pair-bonding.
