True, I'm just coping with existentialism.

we all have our own copes to our own problems. it's a natural thing to keep your sanity, if done in a healthy way

but like i said, anything you pursue that's not a like-minded girl, would be neutralized by your hedonic adaptation

Unfortunately true , the Harvard happiness study concluded relationship quality was the biggest factor in happiness albeit that includes with friends + family as well. Many studies also conclude a happy marriage is the biggest predictor of life satisfaction.

i want to make an additional commentary on that,
what i think about how most people ruin their marriage,

1- they dont talk about their feelings about their partners transparently,

whether gratitude or resentment

they keep it to themselves for whatever reasons,

and with time, gratitude fades away, while resentment turns into a bigger grudge little by little

and when enough time has passed, they wonder why they dont feel the same attraction they had towards their partner

it's not a matter of novelty

it's because they put all the responsibility on a single word and a signature: “marriage.”

as if getting married means the job is done. like, “okay, we’ve sealed this excitement forever, so it’s protected now”

no.

marriage is like starting a company

you give the company a name, come up with an idea, say “this is our project,” and then just walk away from the business? do they think that’s how it works?

of course not.

you have to make plans, work harder than you ever have before, hold regular meetings about how the company is doing, and make whatever changes and adjustments are necessary along the way
