But the problem is that most people are dumb as fuck and even the very intelligent ones aren't living on a higher plane of existence either. They still have roughly the same number of neurons and are human beings as well, they don't experience a completely different world. This whole world is bland and boring. When I was a kid, I was eager to discover the world and I was dreaming of how complex other people are and how one can feel extreme feelings under certain circumstances, but I had to realize that's not the case. You can easily predict what they're going to say. Such boring and uninspired creatures. Most things just don't appeal to me anymore. I think if I had a lot of money I could create experiments or scenarios I'm curious about and cause extreme feeling in myself. Find more things to actually do and keep myself occupied. Finance ideas I have. But till then it feels pointless.

I was thinking about stuff like staging car crashes for example. To keep myself entertained and then arrive at the accident location as the white knight. Would make sure to approach from the right side to get optimal lighting, maybe from a small hill to look taller etc. (in minecraft)

Modern society is devoid of much joy at all. Any joy that can be claimed is reserved for people who have either been very fortunate since birth or already fought through the trenches to become successful. I've just accepting the suffering that comes with life and arrived at the conclusion that I'd rather see what kind of life I can create instead of rot. The only way to cope with the monotony of life for me is to pretend that life itself is a game itself. We each have our own characters, ourselves, that we can build up or let go to waste. We all have an end point and you can decide to see how far you can go or give into pleasure if that has no value for you. We only have one life to struggle through and then it's over permanently after that, so choose wisely.

I'm a recovering alcoholic who recently decided to stop drinking after nearly 13 years of bing drinking. Withdrawal crippled me for nearly a week.

The 'responsible use' argument is bullshit and a cope because in order for it to apply, you need to be the sort of user that only uses it infrequently in social situations (social drinking etc). But if you're that type of drinker/user, it also means you have something to live for in the first place and don't even truly need the booze/drugs. If you're using them alone and by yourself to compensate for the lack of other worthwhile activities there is a 99.9% that you will become addicted.

This is what happened to me. I started as a social drinker in my early 20s (going out with friends etc) but then as the blackpill hit me I started drinking more and more by myself until eventually I was getting trashed every other day. Now I've stopped because I'm sick of all this bullshit.
